Question

If procedures 5m133 or 5m134 are reported under diagnosis C50 along with a breast surgery (e.g., 5u113), the case is classified under Program 14, for which our facility (MMC) is authorized. However, if they are reported separately with a diagnosis of C77.3, the case is classified under program 44, for which our facility (MMC) does not have authorization. This creates an illogical situation in which the facility can perform a more extensive procedure, including lymph node dissection, but a separate procedure on the same lymph nodes falls outside the authorized program.
