Question

Patients with bone metastases may develop pathological fractures or vertebral compression fractures, which cause severe pain—in such cases, as part of comprehensive care for cancer patients, interventional radiologists at NOU perform vertebroplasty. In some cases, patients do not have bone metastases, but the procedure is also indicated for osteoporosis, which often develops in cancer patients as a result of anticancer drug therapy. Proposed solution: Create a service within the traumatology program for the combination of procedure code 5t699 and diagnoses M8008, M8018, M8058, and M8448, which would be integrated into the non-vascular interventions program.
