Question

When implementing Annex No. 3 into the insurance company’s internal systems and processes, we addressed the issue of establishing standardized terminology for medical devices. For example: Level II Traumatology Program 2 requires, in paragraph (3), special equipment and technical resources, specifically a “skiascopic C-arm.” In our opinion, Program 8 for Abdominal Surgery specifies in paragraph (2) a requirement for “intraoperative X-ray,” which we believe is the same device as in Program 2, but experts in the field refer to it by a different name.

Thank you for your suggestion regarding Annex 3 and the need to unify the instrument naming within the individual professional programmes. The process of revision and extension of the codebook is currently underway in cooperation with NCZI. At the same time, discussions are ongoing with the professional societies to ensure unambiguous assignment of instruments and their uniform nomenclature in line with the requirements of practice. We consider your suggestion for the use of EMDN nomenclature to be relevant and will consider it in further modifications.
