Hello, Thank you for your suggestion. The Dg in question is currently primarily assigned to Level III Program #39 - Sleep Medicine Program - Medical Service S39-01 Sleep Disorders. In the psychiatry program, this MS is only shared - i.e., the decision to reassign this Dg is made by the Sleep Medicine Specialty Workgroup representatives. The Sleep Medicine program currently has the lowest level, Level III, so the classification of this MS in this program cannot be lower. An option would be to reassign the diagnosis to a medical service in the Psychiatry Program, which also has a Level II. Therefore, I will file a petition to reassign this Dg to another MS and send it to the representatives of both programs for their concurring/opposing professional opinion. The submission will then be presented to the Inpatient Categorization Committee, which will make the final decision to reclassify/keep the diagnosis at the same level.
